District Statement

Incident at McNabb

The safety and well-being of our students and staff is always our top priority. We wanted to make you aware of an incident that occurred at McNabb Middle School during morning drop-off today and to reassure you that our campus safety measures worked as intended.

During drop-off, school administration observed an individual on school grounds who appeared to be under the influence. Administration immediately alerted our School Resource Officers (SROs), who quickly responded.

Upon arrival, SROs searched and detained the individual. The search revealed that the individual was in possession of a loaded handgun and drug paraphernalia. The individual was promptly taken into police custody. At no point did the individual enter the school building. All students and staff are safe.

We are deeply grateful to our alert administrative team and our quick-responding School Resource Officers for their immediate action in resolving this situation safely. We remain committed to maintaining a secure environment for our school community and will continue to enforce all safety protocols.
